Hi people,

I am working on a 1961 dodge dart, and struggeling with the wiring for the wiper switch. I have searched all the internet and cant seem to find the right picture or diagram. It is a variable speed wiper motor, and a variable speed switch. Does anybody have such a diagram, or picture or drawing where to put al the wires?

If needed, i can make some pics.

Thanks for taking the time

Rob

Here's my test bench set-up. I think you should have the same colours. At least you can see how it's connected.

The ground (minus) is very important, both the motor and the switch needs good ground

Thats fast, thank you so much.

Piece of very good advice. When all parts have arrived, i will make a bench test set up. It looks like a different switch at first sight. I will make a picture or drawing of the connectors at the back and post it. Not that different, but i miss some connectors. Could be that it makes no difference, but just to be sure. Electrics are not my favorite to put it mildly and i dont want to burn the car just yet.

You're welcome to the forum as well to the information.

The +12 volt power supply arrives through a pink cable to the “B” terminal.
The “P” terminal (blue cable) is energized when the wiper switch is in “OFF” position. When the switch is turned to the “ON” position, the voltage drops to 0.
The "A" terminal (black) has no voltage when the switch is in the "OFF" position and +12 volt when the switch is turned "ON"
The “F1” terminal (red cable) send out +12 volt when the wipers runs in slow speed, the voltage drops when the knob is turned clockwise, for to remain at approximately 2,1 volt in the full speed position.
The “F2” terminal (yellow cable) gives a +12 impulse when the switch is turned off.

This should help you understand the function

The control is for the coordinated wiper washer system Rob. That was standard on the Imperials and Chryslers 1960. Otherwise it's the same switch.
