Location: North Australia | Pretty good ad! Good pics and a well written description. Nice car too. Steve. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1956-Chrysler-300B-Coupe/124658687474?hash=...

Mostly Original 300B, Factory Black paint, Factory Air Conditioning, and Factory 3-speed Torqueflite! Might actually be halfway decent, but it would obviously need further inspection. Their site lists it at $51,900 : https://www.classicautomall.com/vehicles/2366/1956-chrysler-300b-cou... ~Peter

Elite Veteran Posts: 626 Location: Lubbock, TX | What's up with the "300" letters on the side? The font is all wrong compared to other 300 Bs. Looks almost like 300 E hood letters... ~Peter

Member Posts: 38 | It is hard to fathom why someone would use those letters on that car... and I agree that the sloppy undercoating is a real disappointment. Equally mystifying is the exhaust, which appears to be painted or sandblasted... with holes remaining? o_O Edited by jj94tt 2021-04-01 11:51 AM

Location: The Mile High City | Them hood letters are oddly spaced too. Still, the 300B is the ultimate! I can't stand all these ads talking about this car being an "investment" grade bla, bla, bla! Horse feathers! Buy it because you want to drive it!

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7206 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | Not only are the hood letters spaced incorrectly, and the "300" numbers on the rear quarters wrong, but also the CHRYSLER block letters ahead of the 300 numbers on the rear quarters are all wrong. Looking closely, this car needs a huge amount of work. Since the 300 B doesn't bring the kind of money that the later letter cars up to the 300-G bring , $51,000.00 is way out of range considering the amount of work it would need to bring it back. Correct restoration would easily cost more than that.....and a B isn't worth a hundred grand. I'm not even positive that the seats are leather, look more like cheap vinyl but I could be mistaken. I don't see any leather stress creases anywhere. Here's a 300-B that has been well restored. https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1956-chrysler-300b Edited by imopar380 2021-04-02 12:10 AM

Nothing is perfect on this car. But the only things that really bother me (in the photos) are the holey exhaust and those horrible letters, which would be either tricky or impossible to fix, depending how they installed them.

Fixing the possible bondo issue means welding & repaint. They're also trying to pawn off a restored underside when absolutely nothing has been done to the underside - not even basics like fixing the exhaust. Nor basics like non-working tail lights & A/C. In my book, that means that the trans has likely never been gone through either and the motor has likely been neglected. And they **only** want $52K for it. These cars also require new wiring harnesses because they used cloth insulators. Has the wiring harness been replaced? Yeah, I doubt it too. Edited by Powerflite 2021-04-02 3:34 PM

Expert Posts: 3967 Location: DFW, TX | The Ebay listing was at 24k. The price it sells at will be less than 52k, I thought that was obvious, since those car consignment places keep dropping the price until it sells. A buyer making a reasonable offer will get the car. Which brings up the point, what does everyone think this car is worth? It's a highly desirable letter car with some issues. I think the number is somewhere around 35-40k. If you want a better car, they're out there for more money. If you want a full resto project, you might find another car for less, but you'll spend all the budget locating a million missing parts. If you want a driver and are willing to do some maintenance work, there aren't many out there like this one.

A 300 club guy has had a pretty complete/solid not-running red 300B project for sale for a few months for $9500. Depends on what you are into

That use of black spray paint is scary, trying to hide what??? I hadn't noticed before but it does have Torqueflite and with a VIN of 3N561941 (compared to the range of 3N56-1001 to 3N56-2150) it is late enough in the model run to be legitimate OE. And I just noticed that the reverse light switch is screwed into the reverse servo test port, the way I did it (not knowing that the factory did the same) Mine: REFERENCE: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=73198&...
