I purchased 2 sets of aftermarket trim for the '56 Plymouth a while ago, but just got around to inspecting it all now. Apparently, it was made in 1956! - as a way for ultra-frugal people to purchase a '56 Plaza and then put the 2 tone Belvedere trim onto it. I figured it would be the same as the original Plymouth trim, but I was wrong. The trim profile itself is the same, and its made with the same stainless steel material, but it doesn't have any of the special trim with corners, and the large arrow trim is much simpler without the Belvedere name on it. Pretty bogus how they made these to piece together, but it does work. And I can't complain too much because of all the pieces, that arrow trim is the easiest to obtain. They made their arrow design sort-of reminiscent to the Canadian Savoy design, but much cheaper looking. But not having the downturn corner on the front-most trim is the biggest bummer. You can piece it together with what they give you, but it isn't very nice that way, so I would be looking for more of those front corner pieces to go with these trim sets.

Unfortunately, these sets are made for the 4dr so they don't have the long quarter trim in there, but if you are skilled, you can TIG weld the 4dr pieces together to make it happen. The door trim is longer on the 2dr as well, but that one can be easily obtained by cutting another piece of trim shorter to fit.

The instructions include a life-size drill template to place onto the doors, in order to get the door trim in the right spot. Personally, I wouldn't trust it, and just make my own measurements from an original Belvedere. Notice that the cars they are fitting these on say "Plaza" on the back end.

They promoted these trim sets with a contest entry for $5000. That seems like a lot of money back then for a promotional contest. Should I fill it out and send it in?

Very nice! I always thought the Belvederes had the nicest trim, but alway disliked the name "Belvedere".

This one makes me want to have a 56 Plymouth. Try to find it! It was called "Sportsation", or something like that:

Most of these cars are rusted out in that section due to a poor seam design there, so that would be a welcome improvement.

That's interesting. I've never seen that trim before. Apparently it was made by the same company that made this tu-tone Belvedere style trim. They also made a Dodge Custom Royal style trim for the Plymouth as well, according to the All-par article.

I've also seen custom headlight bezels that recently popped up on Ebay. Not sure who made those or when.
