I have a 1954 Chrysler New Yorker Deluxe with 331 Hemi and Powerflite auto. Several years ago I picked up a late '50s cast iron Torqueflite out of a Plymouth with V8. I would like to swap the transmissions. (I do know about the pushbutton cable to column shift adapter that is needed)

What I would like to know: Will the Torqueflite mate up to the Powerflite torque converter using the Powerflite front pump drive sleeve? Also are the torque converter shafts on the Torqueflite the same as the Powerflite?

I have a Powerflite transmission out of a 55 Chrysler for doing comparisons on. So far, the only difference is about a 1/4-1/2 inch of total length between the two transmissions.

Look forward to any input someone may have.

Thanks
