No two/three tone (only single tone, Cloud Grey), No fender mirrors, No radio, no back-up lights, no PS, no PB, 270 2 bbl poly, No factory heater. But I am confused about the heater. Has the heater delete panels on the firewall but two hoses going from the engine to the firewall. What am I looking at? Somebody added a heater (but no fan) ? Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10162 Location: Lower Mainland BC | . To complete the story, here are the VIN and the cowl data tag. The VIN shows that it was built in Detroit (starts with 34 or 35 not 42 like the LA plant) The cowl data tag says that it was built around June 26, 1956. It also shows yet another change to the cowl data tag format. This one took up the format that was also used for the forthcoming 1957 models. You can see the 812 = V8 2dr post Coronet, the 528 trim code and the 40 = Cloud Grey Paint Code. Not sure about the 367 or the 595 considering this is a stripper with only an optional Powerflite (usually a nn3 in 1956). No radio = no aerial. Elite Veteran Posts: 647 Location: Lubbock, TX | I'm thinking 367 might be the optional arm rests? I know Plymouth Plazas came standard with no armrests and I thought Coronet was the same. Maybe the reason that option code is seldom seen is that if you ordered one of the more common accessory or convenience packages arm rests were included? Just spit-balling here, I really love the originality of this coupe! ~Peter

Maybe the reason that option code is seldom seen is that if you ordered one of the more common accessory or convenience packages arm rests were included? That seems plausible. I don't see any other factory options other than the automatic and the wheel covers (instead of the base Coronet dog dishes - but those could have been added anytime in the last 65 years), so armrests definitely would be one thing. The other could be the wheel covers. ???
