My '57 301 has low compression and with the rising pressure after putting oil in the cylinders, safe to say it is the bores and/or rings. Local shop quoted my 4-6k for a rebuild. For 6k I could probably put a newer hemi in it. Looking for something to bolt up to my pushbutton TF transmission. I've been looking for a while and have only found the later poly engines for sale. As far as I know, I need a pre 1962 one to work with my transmission? Willing to travel, I am in the midwest
