Wow! That's just crazy. I would have definitely had them put the black paint on the emblem. Edited by Lancer Mike 2021-06-17 11:09 PM

The pipes and mufflers might be hangin' a little low even. Don't get me wrong - it is a beautiful car. Much better than any car I will ever own. I am just floored by that restoration price. Veteran Posts: 186 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: christchurch New Zealand | Yes , perfection doesnt mean correctness unfortunately, understandably restorers with high reputations restoring lots of various vehicles, how could one expect them to be experts on each and every vehicle unless they do an in depth review of the vehicle from either historic or current factory publications that show what it should or shouldnt have and where . In this case the most glaring mistake are the exterior mirrors from a late 59/60 mopar and positioned on the door , where as they should be fender mounted and of a totally different design. But not losing sight that the owner of this car may well have decided this is how he wants it, its his car his choice. Which does make you wonder that having spent this amount of money on a car why put something so obviously wrong and positioned when the factory mounted mirrors were reasonable in function and looks. None the less a very sharp looking car and still a credit to the owner, like most i would be happy to own it to. Geoff.

We know that the 300Bs got Torqueflites late in the model run which ended at 3N56-2150. 3N56-1991 is pretty close to the very end so I would think that the Torqueflite is original to the car. The TF assembly PN, if very original would be 1671 747, but there might have be a legitimate recall/warranty replacement to 1823 593.

Expert Posts: 2139 ![]() ![]() ![]() | . Code D3 on the tag means this car originally equipped with 7-button Radio Music Master with Rear Seat Speaker But the car has more expensive 5-button Electro Touch Tuner (Town and Country) Radio, which should has Code D1… Factory Air Conditioned cars (as stated by seller) should have Code M5 on the tag, but the M space is empty. This car is probably equipped with aftermarket A/C or its item has been added in restoration process. The IBM-card would solve this problem anyway… http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=74258&... (1.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]()

The owner spent $500,000.00 Canadian on the resto. With today's exchange rate that's just over $400,000.00 USD

I am one of many who could never afford to take my car to a shop and say do it! Besides I also enjoy the accomplishment of doing it myself and making it as good as new.

Interestingly, the '55 C300 was not available with any outside mirror, and for the '56 300B only had the driver's side mirror as an option. This car may not have been ordered with any mirror at all. Here is some info about letter car mirrors. http://www.chrysler300club.com/tech/mirror/all.html

Expert Posts: 4148 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Connecticut | Also incorrect antenna. 300,000 on a restoration ??? I'm finding that a bit difficult to believe. Maybe half that, max. This is a special order color as well as a TF car, according to the Chrysler 300 Club registry. Car is no longer available on ebay. So a private deal must've been struck. Ron

Elite Veteran Posts: 664 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Lubbock, TX | Looks like no sale and now only showing an asking price of $115. Which I think is fair if the restoration is really high quality after an in-person inspection. If you've been looking to restore a B you couldn't do it for less than that nowadays! ~Peter
