My engine has the stamp, S24-T244T -- I think this is from a '56 Fireflite. Can someone confirm/correct?
Also, I just pulled an AC-Delco R43S out of it -- I was going to replace with same but thought I'd ask if there are recommendations for an alternate plug?

S24 is indeed the proper stamping for a '56 Fireflite or Adventurer. I'm not sure about the "T" stamp though. There is high probability that it is supposed to be "1" instead. If you would like to get options for different spark plugs, take a look at what Rockauto or other places offer for the engine.
