all glass gets dulling over many years. i have seen items that r meant to "restore" them. has anyone used them, which ones, and do they work? i have also thought about using paint buffing compound to try to polish them up, anyone tried this?---jeremy

I wouldn't use paint compound.  I went to the local glass shop where he used rugh (Not sure how you spell it) and a special wheel on a drill to polish it out.  He was able to take out all the fine wiper scratches and restore the view through the glass.  Actually it was like new.  There were a few deeper scratches left, but they were almost invisible.  You had to look for them.  I later acquire a wheel and did a shield myself with similar results.

That is very similar to what the glass shops use.  Except that looks like it's a paste, while the glass shops use just a powder Pumace

Since a couple of years, "Lucy" has arrived, it's a windshiel polishing robot, costs about 85 dollars to have your windshield completely polished. I do not know if it's available in the US.
