I am looking for some info on pulling the motor out of my 1956 chrysler it has the powerflite transmission i need to pull it to rebuild it but the size of the trans i dont know if they can be pulled together or have to be separated in the car anyone done this before

It is best to separate the iron trans from the aluminum bell housing first. That will make it much easier to remove. removing the bellhousing is usually non-trivial because of a hidden bolt that Chrysler used. Otherwise, you could remove it at that point. But because of that, it is usually best to remove that after it is removed from the car.
