Expert Posts: 1876 | . Correction: 85 is Windsor T&C, not Newport T&C; Newport has began from 1961 and replaced Windsor

Veteran Posts: 148 | Hi Frwl, Great knowledge and thank you for sharing with the group. Is there a reference that is available with the codes that is available for purchase? I noticed that you mentioned that 72 is a possible code for the first two digits in 1960. Do you mean the first two digits in the sequence code (the four numbers after the date code)? Mine reads 3038. I'm wondering if 30 may have also been an Adventurer code used at the Jefferson plant and that the 38 may have mean that it was the 38th car built that day. Are my assumptions correct according to your knowledge on the subject? Once again, thank you for the great insight.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9855 Location: Lower Mainland BC | . Todd: It would help if you posted a photo of the VIN in question. From what I can see, the 1960 Desoto Adventurer VIN all started with 7203-1nnnnnn. Nothing more hidden in there. The cowl (or door jamb) data tag has all the better info.
