Hi all, I'm beginning to work on removing the interior of the 61 Fury.  I've been having trouble figuring out how to remove the window regulator handles, armrests, and door panels.  The FSM just says to "remove interior trim" but doesn't tell you how. I'm sure this is kindergaten stuff to most of you, but this is my first FL car and being a convert I don't to tear anything up.   I seek knowledge.   Thanks in advance.

You need to use a tool to retract the spring on the door and window handles. It is KD 435. There are other ways to do it as well, but using this tool is the most straight forward. The arm rests unscrew from below, depending on which model you have (some models just clip on). After that, the board just pops out if you carefully pry up around the hardware using a plastic pry bar with 2 teeth to go around the clip.

In addition to the factory door handle and window crank KD 435 tool that Nathan (Powerflite) recommends (as do I), there are DIY solutions that others have put forward from time to time:

you dont have to use the tool i use a screwdriver

But you have to use two, theres a trick to it.

I think a nice flat tool is safer on the door panel though

The KD-435 pops up frequently on ebay. Also, the Factory Shop Manual and parts book are key to working on the car and finding the parts that you need. Be super careful when removing the door card, as the only source for accurate replacements (SMS) takes forever to fulfill your order.

See? that's why I ask this forum. I didn't know a tool like that even existed. I found a decent used one on eBay and purchased it. I have one of those flat tools that D550boy shows. I bought it a couple years ago at a swap meet. All it does is put marks on the black plastic collar which I'm trying to avoid. Ronbo97, thanks for the tip. These door panels are perfect and I don't want to damage them.
The front seat is a powered unit, and it obviously needs to come out to be reupholstered. Any tricks or tips on the safe removal of it. Again, it works perfectly and I don't want to screw it up.

Thanks for all your help and support. Phil.
