My 57 Belvedere is finally ready for paint and my painter has not been able to get a mix for the original paint codes for the Sand Dune white and Desert Gold. Does anybody have a modern match or cross reference for those colors? It's been a long time getting to this point so I would hate to delay it any further. I do have a very good piece of the interior that was protected from the sun that has the white and gold, would those be good samples for a color match? I also have the interior window trim but they may have faded some.

I really appreciate any help on this.

Personally, I have had much better results going with a paint match than what is in the chips. You could probably get away with a modern formula for the white, but I doubt the gold would look like the original color without matching it. Good luck!

Check this site, They have advertisers that mix paints to code. Seems like a good paint supplier would have the color matching machine/unit.

I have a partial can of Sand Dune white that was mixed from a scan, but it is not a base coat-clear coat, as I didn't want a modern paint look. It's a modern acrylic enamel, so if interested, I'll see if I can find the code on the can.

A code on that paint would be great. I need someplace to start. There is no paint left on the car to try to match.

"The original paint codes for the Sand Dune white and Desert Gold"

Sounds like a 57 Fury to me.

Sand Dune White = AAA

Desert Gold = PPP

Here's a photo of the only label the paint store placed on the can. Maybe your supplier understands how to find the mix ratio.

My paint store tried two different manufacturer codes listed for Sand Dune white, but neither was close to the original color. To get the color I wanted, they scanned a friend's two-year-old paint on his '57 Fury and it looks correct. To get any closer to perfect would probably require scanning original paint from some area that had been covered since new.

I mis-stated when I said I used acrylic enamel. It's a one-part poly and I like it much better than the two-part that in my opinion is too bright. The store recommended the Delfleet Essential as it looks more like the OEM finish when our cars were new... and the best part is that it's less expensive.

You don't need gold paint for a Fury.

I am going through the same problem here, although I did find the Sand Dune White. 2nd picture is it applied onto the firewall. My paint shop cannot find Desert Gold. I have given them these numbers from service manual, the three letters and another set I found on the net. If any updates on the desert gold, please let me know. Here is the current 2021 PPG paint code for desert white. The numbers pictured from the service manual are interior paint codes, which is non metallic. Exterior desert gold is metallic. Paint codes from 1957 service manual are 22-8307, 8307. DQE-21321 and DAL-21321 for exterior

These are showing that 21321 that my shop couldn't find. I am starting to think the paint store I go to just doesn't know how to find it. Your links do contain paint to buy, which is a huge plus since I am striking out here! Thanks!

We couldn't get any cross references, so we wound up picking HYZ Gold and PW1 Stone White. May not be perfect but close and looks good.

Usually, any good painter is able to match a paint from a paint chip.
Or at least give you several propositions to choose from.

I used Wimbledon White which is an early 60's Fort color. Looks great.
