Am after a set ( 14 of ) body mount pads for the 58 sportsman can find them up to 56 but not sure they will be correct.

Those steel tubes are too big, metal to metal they will start to make a noise when the body starts to move as you are going down the road,

The whole idea of the rubber is to isolate the body from the frame.

Yes, but why used convertibles aluminum mounts? If I ever restore my 59 coupe, I will box (stiffen the frame which is joke in the rear) and use aluminum mounts.

Hi Sid,

Yes convertible mounted solid, but with those tubes touching the chassis the flex in the rubbers will allow the tubes to rub against the frames, best to use you're original spacer tubes if possible with a small cut of rubber hose to go in the hole on the frame.

Watch the video again, you can see at 2.35 he has to push the steel Bush into the hole in the frame, so no clearance at all, the part he says you have to cut off the rubber is supposed to isolate the tube from the frame,
Leave it up to you lot to decide if it's wrong.
