| Hello all,
Doing some research while my '59 Belvedere is away at the painters. I am sort of wavering between going back to original (via a poly 318/cast iron torquefite, which I would have to hunt down because I don't have one) or using the engine that was in the car when I bought it (440/727). For reference, the original rear axle was swapped out for one from a late 60's Charger, which is leaning me toward using the 440/727. (Also, I already have it and know it runs nicely)
Original engine or not, I am wanting to be able to use the push button setup to shift the transmission. Being new to Mopars, I have researched myself into utter confusion on what can and can't be done with regards to push button-shifting a 727. Since this certainly isn't the first time this has been done, I thought I'd ask here.
I believe my 727 is from 1969 based on this number stamped on it: K2892090L 2764 9252
If that is the case, is this transmission a candidate to be push button shifted using this cable:

Or do I need to hunt down an earlier 727 to be able to use push buttons?
Any insight is appreciated.

Location: NorCal | To my knowledge, the A&A kit is the one made by Imperial Services, it will shift any '66-later Torqueflite but there is no provision for Park. Since you have the later rear end, you'll have to hook up the parking brake if not already done.

Location: Ferndale, WA 98248 | My shop installed a 440 / 727 from a 1971 New Yorker in my 1961 Newport convertible. They used this kit with the 61 push buttons, and it works great.
As 57 Chizer noted, it does not have a provision for Park, so we hooked the parking brake cable to the rear brakes. We also used the 8 3/4 rear end from the 71 New Yorker in the Newport. You already have a late 60's rear end in your car, so I'm just confirming this works.
If you really want an early 727 trans with the push button set up, I have one from a 1963 300 that I bought before I knew this kit existed...
