I'm asking the question because Willem Weertman, in his book, "Chrysler Engines - 1922 to 1998" seems to state that they are the same, which I DO NOT believe.
Furthermore, the bore spacing that he states for a 241-270-315-325 1953-1957 Dodge hemi ("double-rocker") engine does not jive with what I measure on a gasket kit that I bought for my 315 D500 engine.
SOoo...if anyone has access to a Desoto hemi, could you please measure the bore center-to-center spacing and report back here?
Thanks in advance.

Check here,
Thanks. But "Here" is an image of something.
What is the source of the information? Link? (Sorry - need something to verify)

Thanks Paul. Great Link(s).
I knew that the Chrysler-Desoto-Dodge early hemis were all different. I guess the fact checker/proof reader for Willem Weertman's book had a bad day when they were checking the Desoto and Dodge tables.
In Table 8.2 page 139 of Weertman's book he has the 52-57 Desoto hemi bore spacing at 4.3125" and the block length at 20.844"
In Table 8.3, page 144, Weertman has the 53-57 Dodge hemi bore spacing at same 4.3125" bore spacing and the same block length 20.844" .
Thanks to that link (screen shot below), it confirms that Weertman screwed up. The 53-57 Dodge hemi bore spacing is 4.1875" (not sure what the block length is).
For 3 bore spacings on a 241-325 Dodge hemi round port exhaust gasket, I was measuring about 12.5" (by eye with a measuring tape) which would yield a bore spacing of about 4.166" spacing instead of the 4.1875" listed in the Victory Tech Papers table (about a 0.5% error). I didn't know whether Weertman screwed up in his book or I can't measure worth cr@p or the gasket I was using was wrong.
Now I know.
Thanks.
