Location: Alvin, Texas | I have more videos up if you want to look up username Belvedere1958 on YouTube! I’m almost ready to install my steering column and was wondering how the horn wire is routed. Does it go straight down the column into the engine compartment? Or does it go down a separate hole on the steering column and out the square hole on the side of the column, under the dash, thru a hole on the firewall where all the wiring goes in the engine compartment? Sorry for the run on sentencing.
Thanks in advance!

I can't tell you about a 1957 or 58 Mopar horn circuit, but I am guessing it is close to the 56 horn circuit.
So for a 56 Mopar the power starts at the horn relay.
That wire goes through the firewall via a rubber grommet:
Then it, an a few more wires, enter the steering column and travel upwards to the signal lights, etc. and the horn button:
Here it is at the horn switch:

Location: Connecticut | Joey - Unlike earlier years, 57 and up horns are unswitched. So they will blow whether the car is running or not. The black wire coming out of the button joins the multi-connector thru the square hole midway down the steering column. From there it goes out thru the firewall in the main harness. You'll have to consult the schematic for the rest. Doing this from memory. The horns ground thru the body. Ron |

Thanks I was looking thru the book and found where the horn wire goes. I was just wondering how to route the wire so that it won’t tangle.
Once again Thank you Ron and everyone who helped. |

Location: SE Arizona | Ron's correct for Power Steering equipped 57-8s. However on Manual Steering cars the horn wire runs all the way thru the steering shaft and comes out the end of the steering box. |
