Here's an Autotrader Classics search - no 57 Desoto in the US with them.

It's posted there by Classic Rides & Rods, Annandale MN 866-935-4292.  But again, the link won't paste.

Oh yeah, it's bad! I'll have to make a point to snap some pics of this one at BJ this year.

I knew you'd have fun with this one.  That continental kit is big enough to accommodate my rather large a$$.

This Adv is ugly all around
The owner do all possible to destroy the unique look

Front Spoiler
Golden Headlamp bezels
Foglamp in bumper surrounding
Painted Taillamp domes
tachometer in front of the dash Adventurer script
Fender Skirts
Seat Belts
Forwardlook Sign from Fender at glove box door
Continental Kit
Fireflite nameplate on conti Kit?
all the chrom bling bling in engine department
golden door pockets next to shipfter handles
aluminium covers at side sill are golden
the trunk (adv only) moldings are ugly golden

Maintaining such a condition is a joke compared to an restored Adventurer which is kept running with nos parts
I wonder why we all go to this length when such funny vehicles are sold for good money....

Last called prize $79

Wow..

Look at the wiring nest also...that needs addressed immediately.

Rip that POS tire off the back.. I can let the chrome engine dress up kit slide...

But yes get back to stock outside appearance pretty quick the extra gold took it over the edge I think also.

It used to be listed on the R&R website for $70,000.

For th right price, it looks like it might be a solid car to un-blingify and have some fun with. I'd rather fix a car by taking off stuff than welding in a bunch of new panels.

What a great word - un-blingify!  But in this case, I think that would be about as tough as getting unpregnant.

The car is a rust free body from what I can tell. I was all around the bottom and it has super dry and clean rockers and floors. No sign of any repairs. Black paint is stunning in person, gold is obviously the wrong color, but still high quality finish. Interior is beautiful and very correct. Car just needs to have the engine bay redone and the plating throughout done in the proper chrome. If it were mine I’d pull the interior out, repaint the gold, install a new wiring harness, and then re assemble. It’s a great car that just needs some de-cluttering.

This is a beautiful piece of automotive history even with the non OEM features. You envy
dripping nit pickers should be ashamed.

Wah.. I'm happy to read about what is and isn't right about this car aside from what I can see for myself. Not everyone is familiar with these cars. More information is better than less.

Agree - and I am not "ashamed" about not knowing everything about every car that is referred to on this forum.

Haha! “Envy dripping nit pickers”, that’s a good one. Having owned 4 1957-58 Adventurers, I believe I’m way beyond envy…

100% same here. I'm a purist when it comes to my cars and the ones I love to see done well. I'm not afraid to do alterations which are stock-consistent but I like all of these cars even the ones which are dramatically altered regardless of what I would do. Had I been looking at one it's much better to have this information available. I have no apologies to make if these "nit-picks" ruffle any feathers.. that's too bad as not all "nit picks" are the same.

I disagree. I looked over the car and the paint is awful on it. This car shouldn't have sold for more than 30k, no clue what buyers were thinking. I was blown away the car was even given a Friday placement, more of a tuesday car.
