Location: Langley BC Canada | So my oil dipstick fell off the handle. It was only jb welded on, and looking at the tip, it was modified off another vehicle to fit anyway. I'm repurposing a mid 60s 383 dipstick as it's the correct diameter but I want to make sure I put the add / fill marks in the correct spot (for obvious reasons). Looking at the existing one it's safe to say they are probably wrong. Is there anyone with a 354 that can measure from the stop on the dipstick handle (where it lays flat to the end of the dipstick tube). I need the total length, and then measuring back from the bottom, the add and full marks.
The car is a 1958 Chrysler Windsor (US is Saratoga) with a 354 (2 barrel, auto)

Location: Branson, MO | If your crankcase is full (like from a fresh oil change) you can use your 383 dipstick and see what the level is cold and sitting for awhile and then mark it. Use that to mark your add line based on the difference between the add line and the full mark you just measured which looks about 3/4 of an inch from the picture.
