Regular Posts: 62 Location: NY | Before I do something stupid, any tips on the best way to remove the rear bench seat of a 56 desoto wagon? I could not find anything in the service manual and not much info online. Thanks in advance

Regular Posts: 62 Location: NY | Yes bench seat was the wrong term. It’s the removal of both rear seats for re covering

I think that even the wagon rear seat bottom is held down differently than the sedans and hardtops. I am contacting Terrance D. (71charger_fan) to see if he can post answer (maybe with photos from his thread) here. Terrance's thread: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=63722&... Some photos. Not exactly the ones that are needed but... Edited by 56D500boy 2022-02-01 7:37 PM

I see some bolts on the rear floor pan brace/reinforcement. How do you access those to remove the bottom?

Regular Posts: 62 Location: NY | Ok I’ll have to figure the attachment part out, I couldn’t figure out how to attach multiple pics. I was able to remove the seats/seatbacks. Basically it’s just several screws that need to be removed from the seat hardware. I couldn’t see any bolts to remove from the floor pan as 56D stated. I’ve snapped a few more pictures when I figure out how to attach them I’ll submit another post. I the meantime I appreciate all the feedback. 56D and charger fan thanks for the pics

Phil: Thanks for posting those photos. The main reason that they would not open is because they are .jpeg photos from an iPhone or iPad, etc. They don't work here. Have to be .jpg. The other reason is they were too large. They need to be < 250 kB. I downloaded your photos and processed them to be 1024 x something so they were less than 250 kB and then saved them as .jpgs. Here they are, again, thanks. Should help in the future. (PS: They also confirm to me that your car's paint was definitely based on Heather Rose) Edited by 56D500boy 2022-02-04 11:22 AM (PhilLunds55DodgeWagonRearSeatRemovalDetail_1.jpg) (PhilLunds55DodgeWagonRearSeatRemovalDetail_2.jpg) (PhilLunds55DodgeWagonRearSeatRemovalDetail_3.jpg) (PhilLunds55DodgeWagonRearSeatRemovalDetail_4.jpg) Attachments ---------------- PhilLunds55DodgeWagonRearSeatRemovalDetail_1.jpg (174KB - 66 downloads) PhilLunds55DodgeWagonRearSeatRemovalDetail_2.jpg (220KB - 68 downloads) PhilLunds55DodgeWagonRearSeatRemovalDetail_3.jpg (148KB - 70 downloads) PhilLunds55DodgeWagonRearSeatRemovalDetail_4.jpg (86KB - 65 downloads)
