Member Posts: 5 | There were two styles in 58. Im guessing your looking for the FLAT early 58 style like in the movie Christine.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9654 Location: So. Cal | Two different styles? There was only one style used in 1958 - 1851580. They also used a modified version on the right side only, and only when using air conditioning - 1854995. But the typical cover used in '59-'63 was part no. 1851924 - not present in the '58 parts catalog. The early vs. late thing is a myth created by people who don't have the original covers on their cars.

Member Posts: 5 | Sorry to tell you but there are 2 styles in 58 There is the flat early cover and the later 59-62 style. I've owned and documented several 58's with big blocks, they came both ways...... There are also 2 styles of wire holders on 58's

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9654 Location: So. Cal | The '58 cover doesn't have the bevels on the top of it like the '59 and later version does. The '58 cover looks more square. Elite Veteran Posts: 1141 Location: Blackpool, United Kingdom. | Powerflite - 2022-03-13 10:27 PM That's the standard '58 valve cover. The top of it is flat. Yes when I got my car I had another one which I thought was later as it was bevelled at the corner,it also had a odd ball 58/59 airfilter in the trunk the snorkel was made in 2 pieces? Just had a look on my car and both are like this one flat on top with rounded edge all way round. Edited by springsweptwing 2022-03-13 5:48 PM
