Elite Veteran Posts: 963 Location: San Antonio, TX | I'm interested to see what the molding clip holes look like. If they look factory or did someone drill them later. If you notice the rear quarter trim dips just slightly. I think to clear the Savoy emblem.

Elite Veteran Posts: 963 Location: San Antonio, TX | Thanks. So it was a factory option. Cool

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9663 Location: So. Cal | Cool, it's rare that you see that trim option. People who spent more money usually went for the 2-tone instead. And a 2dr hardtop Savoy as well! Let me know if he is looking for any parts. I might be able to help. Edited by Powerflite 2022-04-04 9:55 PM

It makes it hard because the replacements are typically crap. Maybe Real Steel has decent panels? Either that or find some good used ones. The car originally came with a 277. That's good as it makes it easier to swap engines, as this 318 or whatever it is, has been swapped into it. Looks like someone has been swapping trim around on the dash as well. The trim around the glove box is from a '55 and the stainless trim above the gauges is from a Belvedere. I swapped that Belvedere trim to my Savoy as well, as it makes it look much better. The speaker grille with the "Plymouth" emblem on it was used on later builds, like from around February onward. I don't see a push-button shifter pod, but maybe he removed it when he installed the floor shifter into it.

Not sure if you figured it out or not but my guess is that there are small(ish) rectangular holes that got punched (not drilled?) and the clips were 1695 561's. At least that was the situation on my 56 Dodge. Like these: I have replaced most of the 1695 561's with Auveco/Geno 2619 studded spring clips like these: REFERENCE: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=65727&...
