I really like this car, for the most part; other than the wire wheels, engine glam, digital guages, seat material, and missing emblems. It's also an original 3speed manual/overdrive car, so that's pretty cool. It'll be interesting to see how far it bids up to.

Following several record-setting speed and acceleration runs at Daytona Beach, Plymouth introduced the Fury for 1956 as a sub-series of the Belvedere. Only rather than market a range of vehicles and engines, every Fury was a sleek two-door hardtop and each was equipped with a larger, higher-performance V-8 engine than other Plymouth models. One of 4,485 such hardtops produced in the famed model’s initial production year, this 1956 Plymouth Fury is said to be the recipient of a restoration that is estimated to be 90 percent finished, including the installation of a complete new wiring harness. This Fury is equipped with a seldom-seen "Power Pak" engine enhancement that included an aluminum intake manifold with dual four-barrel carburetors, a modified camshaft and a freer-breathing air cleaner, along with some engine dress-up accessories in chrome.

POWERTRAIN
This Fury features a 303-cu.in. OHV V-8 engine fitted with the Power Pak engine kit that featured the aluminum intake, dual quad carburetors and solid-lifter cam, which gave the engine a stout 270-horsepower rating at the time. The seller shares that the engine under the hood is not original, but a powerplant rebuilt to stock specs with the Power Pak components and installed about 4,000 miles ago. The engine bay is strongly accessorized with chrome-plated components. The seller reports no functional issues with the engine or overdrive manual transmission, noting no smoke and a minor weep around the rear main seal. The rear end is a Chrysler 8¾-inch unit with the Sure Grip limited-slip differential, per the seller. The engine bay presents as strongly clean.

EXTERIOR
Although all ’56 Furys were originally finished in an eggshell white with gold trim, this example features a black exterior contrasting with those golden highlights. This Fury’s finish is said to be about two years old with no swirls and no reported body blemishes. The seller states that the car is free of rust, with a small patch panel in the trunk floor noted. The seller reports no issues with the body seals. The huge Fury side spears appear to be in good, undamaged condition. The chrome trim shows no damage. The seller reports no issues with the glass, and states that all lighting is functional. The underside is generally clean, with minor surface corrosion in spots. The outside mirrors and hood script have been removed.

INTERIOR
The vinyl seating materials are described by the seller as new and show no tears or other damage. The seller states that the carpeting is in good condition, and that the headliner is new. The seller says the Fury’s air conditioning was dealer-installed in 1990 and remains functional. The dashboard appears to have full trim and the seller says all instrumentation is functional, including aftermarket digital engine gauges. The seller shares that the air-conditioning system has been retrofit with R134a refrigerant and blows cold. The factory radio has reportedly been upgraded with an FM receiver. The trunk has a carpeted floor and presents as generally clean.

CHASSIS
The seller states that the Fury’s front suspension has not been serviced other than to install front disc brakes, with power assist. The seller says the components are in overall good condition. The brakes are reported to function as new. The wire wheels and tires are described as new.

Looks like it bid up to $30K, but he wants $52K. His asking price is a little steep, even for a well-restored car. This one, with all of the incorrect add-ons would never reach that kind of price, IMO.
