I'm changing my '55 Plymouth from 6 to 12 Volts. I realize I can use a '56 Plymouth or Dodge motor but I'm not having any luck. To complicate the issue. I really want a variable speed setup. I'm wondering if any later model Mopar motors will work like 1957-1959. Anybody have advice?

My 1956 Custom Royal has a variable speed wiper motor. It was an option. There might be some in wrecking yards, e.g. Big M, Wildcat, French Lake, etc.

I modified one out of a 1992 Dakota, the three hole mount is the same or very close, getting the original linkage to hook up is a real pain and you would need the intermittent controller box and switch, worked for me because I used the Dakota steering column.
