I'm running the original 354 Hemi in my 1956 Imperial, but I have the PS pump, WP and cross over from a 392 Hemi. This buries the original timing indicator on the driver side of the timing cover, but the passenger side is wide open to view. I'd like to mount an timing indictor here and time off the passenger side where I could actually see the harmonic balancer and mark. Any one have any suggestions?

Bend a wire coat hanger and bolt it to the timing cover bolt. Once you bend it to where you want it, then you can make one that's more ridged to match the shape that you need.

I ended up going with the wire hanger idea. I confirmed using the original timing pointer and mark and an dial indication in the #1 spark plug hole as well (I could get my cell phone down into a position to take a picture of the stock pointer to confirm position). The initial timing was only at 2* BTDC, I bumped it up to 8*. What a difference in performance!
