Subject: Factory Seat Belt Location Dimples? '58 Plymouth

I’m getting ready to order and install seatbelts in my ’58 Plymouth. The floor has a dimple stamped toward the outside of the seats as shown in the circle in the attached photo. Underneath the car, the dimpled area is above a frame bracket but there is a hole in the bracket large enough to install the fastener through to the bottom of the floor without attaching it to the frame, which is what you’d want.

Has anyone else come across these dimples and do you think this was the factory’s way marking the preferred seat belt installation location? There are no inboard dimples, only these on the outer edge.

My photos were too large so I'll post them now. The first one shows the dimple and the second one shows the access hole through the frame bracket to reach the bottom of the floor.
