I rarely drive in the rain but I take a 6 hr[1 way] drive every year to the 1000 Islands so I sometime have to drive in rain.
The other day my wiper didn't move all the way. I pulled the arm off and the splines were was almost completely stripped. I tightened the bolt down and they seems to work now but for how long?
Has anyone any suggestions on repairing the soft white metal of the arm spline? I have another set but this set is very nice and pit free so I would like to save them if I can. They are the bolt on C-body style.

I've never had issues with them stripping, but I can see that might be an issue if they weren't tightened down all the way, or if they were used in heavy snow, and not tightened. I would just replace it and make sure it is tight. You probably won't have to worry about it anymore - especially if you don't have heavy snow you are moving with it.

I know your pain. I have a set of wiper pivots that I had rechromed. I have to swap the pivot arms because the splines on the pair that got rechromed were gone.

You can remove the retention collar on the pivot arm and replace it with two C-Clips. You could swap in good pivot arms without even removing the pivot bases.

Otherwise, I would McGyver some kind of thin friction material (600 grit W&D sand paper?) to create a grabby surface for the arm to attach to the pivot (and then tighten the bolt down real good).

*OR* apply some Loctite on the worn splines before you tighten the arms down (in the correct parked position)

Before (with collar):

After (a trial with the worn spline pivot arms and the collar removed) with C-clips:

I've never seen splines that bad on a '57-'61 car. I think I would try to find a really thin cut-off wheel on a tiny die grinder and try cutting those ridges deeper.
Of course, it would require full disassembly first though.

Disassembly is not that difficult (see the link in my post above).

However, cutting those grooves without damaging the threads (and the shaft) would be a challenge.

To add, 2 stage epoxy may help after the splines are restored.
