Does a mirror matic have a different base than standard mirror?
I’ve seen many for sale,but don’t have the base.

Yes. The base or stalk is shorter for the Mirror-matic.

Does it have a exterior wire harness
or a harness in the center of stem?
Will a standard base work MM?

Will a standard base work MM? No. It's too long. Won't look right. MM will vibrate while driving.
