Hi all, I am thinking of selling my 57 Hardtop 4 door, I just wondered if anyone could give me and idea of its real worth please?
I have a rough idea of what I think but would like to get a real idea before I advertise it.
After it standing for nearly two years during covid lockdown I have recently spent quite a bit of money on a mechanic who got her running like a dream a couple of months ago. Ive taken her out a few times and its lovely.
But its time for a change I think, some smaller and easier to drive on the little English country lanes lol.
Any tips or advice aor suggestions on selling are most welcome.
Thanks

Well, if you have a rough idea of what you want for it, put it on one of the onlline auction sites with your reserve (so it doesn't "get away" from you), and see where the bidding goes.

HI Lee,,,

I guess you have a rough idea of what you value it at, And going by that i would list it on Ebay with you minimum value as a reserve,,
I see many classics on ebay at Crazy prices, but they are over priced and Not selling,, I always see it as if you do as i suggest , what ever it gets bid up too is the current going market value, with £2000 lets say,,

Me personally allowing the condition to be very good ( No Rust), i would guess Easily £12000 to £15000 .. But Market may be as low as £8000 in our current financial times,,, and end of season,,,

I just looked at the Brittish pound vs. the dollar, and was amazed at how much it has tanked. Only $1.17/pound. The value of your car in the states is much different than in Europe, and the polarizing nature of the customization makes it very difficult to translate any value from over here.

What did you expect us to base any advice on? You provided one photo and zero information that affects the value of the car. What engine and transmission are in it? What repairs did you have done recently? What condition is the interior in? Rust? Suspension? Brakes? Electrical? Title and registration? We don't know anything about the car except it's missing part of the front bumper and the paint is a bit wild, so it's going to eliminate some of the potential buyers. It looks like a solid drivable car so it's probably worth somewhere between $5000 to $15000 USD but it's impossible to say. Good luck!

You guys are so polite.  I mean - "polarizing nature of the customization" and "paint is a bit wild."  Where do you come up with this stuff - sensitivity training?  That car is butt UGLY - an outright abomination!  I can't imagine why anyone would do this to a ForwardLook car.  There I've said it.  I've been holding back for nearly a month now, and it's completely messed me up.  WHEW, I feel so much better now.

But yeah they did this crap back in the 60s... most of the time to GM cars... but if you dont like it so much buy it and repaint it :

Well thanks all for the replies.
ALL the comments and advice have been taken on board, both good and bad, I feel the love lol.
Yes the paint job is a bit weird and it's not to my taste but it was like that when I bought it, it was done in America.
I fell in love with the look & style of the car not its colour scheme.
So like it or not I've no choice in it as the cost of a respray on a car that size is unfortunately beyond my budget.
I've had many people comment on it over the years and to my surprise nearly all of those comments have been positive!
Its a rare car, especially over her in the UK & I have somehow managed to keep the car alive and on the road for most of the time I have owned her, getting repairs when done when I can afford them.
I'd always hoped to get her back to the original colours of black & gold, she would look stunning.
But now due to ever decreasing funds but mainly health issues I have decided to sell her and I just hope that whoever buys her can afford to do her justice.
