I went through this with my 56 Dodge and what I found out was: 56D500boy - 2016-11-08 7:38 PM FINAL UPDATE - on this topic. Bought 5/16" x 24 nuts and lock washers at Lowes yesterday. Not stainless. Just the regular plated. Installed them. Saved the original nuts and lock washers for the next purist. REFERENCE: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-post.asp?action=rep... Expert Posts: 3777 Location: NorCal | The intake manifold is threaded 5/16"-18 and the factory studs have 5/16"-24 at the carb end. Summit has a variety of studs in different lengths. 5/16"-18 All-Thread rod will work but the correct type studs with a space between the two threads can be torqued into the manifold and won't back out when the nuts are loosened. I did not know that. I had looked for just the nuts at the -24 end and did not know that the manifold was -18. I learn something new, every day. Too soon old, too late smart.
