Interesting article in Hagarty about using an Ionfire plasma plug to create a more complete burn of potentially leaner mixtures. I bet this would not only help with the emissions, but it could also help to get a little more power out of rich or high boost applications. What do you think?

Wonder how much power it takes to light it off...

I would think with that much power it would burn up the spark plugs quickly.

Site tech section says heavy duty street use will burn plugs in about 30K miles. They recommend a specific type of tungsten plug for best MPG. IDK though... $600 you would need to drive it a lot to see any return on investment from a MPG standpoint. Tech section says 10-40% on MPG and 10-40HP in power; however, that is a pretty big variance. I would be interested in seeing more independent installations like from Powernation with side by side comparisons on the dyno when compared to other engine improvements that they are known for.

If it ever gets to the point that there are not any affordable alternative fuels this could pay for itself if fuel costs are ever more expensive than in Europe. I feel for those Brits sometimes.
