Can anyone help identify these oil pumps? These came in boxes with the car.

There is an S24 engine in my '57; the '57 is at the machine shop. So I'm doing an inventory in the hopes of rebuilding the original engine...

Pump #1 - only one number I can find that seems to belong to a 55-56 DeSoto something... 1323 361 on the cover; could the current S24 engine be running with the original oil pump? Page 10-8 of the Parts Book does not mention under Oil Pump any S21-S27 models so am a bit lost as to how to decode for my engines/car.

Greatly appreciate the help.

Pump #1 is a swinging pick up style used up to '55 or '56. The 57/8s had a fixed pick up. The Melling 392 O/P should fit on your '57 DeSoto.

I agree with George, specifically, pump 2 is made for a center/front sump pan, while #1 is for an older rear sump pan. Your '57 should be using a center sump and this is regardless of whether you have an older engine swapped into it. So I suspect that the rear sump pump was discarded when the new pan was installed.

Thanks, guys for the abundance of help! Added a new o/p to the shopping list.
Could either of these be of use to anybody?

Your #1 is NS-1 so someone may find it useful, assuming it is good. The #2 pump is available new from Melling. Part number M-50
