The dull gray 60 Matador was owned by a friend of mine earlier. Note the lenght of the fins, starting on the rear door. Anyone here knows the story about that Matador? I have only seen that on this particular car

This:

Doesn't seem normal for a wagon. Sedan or 2dr hardtop yes. Wagons, no ?

Yes, thanks Dave.
The fins on that 4 d sedan wagon is really what all of the Dodges should have.

Having owned a couple of wagons myself, it's very common to replace damaged wagon doors with a door from a 4dr sedan. All you have to do is swap the upper door frame to get them to interchange on the rear doors. It makes it a lot easier to fix, not having to find a very rare wagon door. I suspect that's what has happened here, and he modified the quarter panel to make it match up with the sedan doors.

Thanks for posting the pictures Tom! I love seeing the Forest Green '57 New Yorker convertible, and all the rest.
I think the spring special horizontal bars on the trunk of the '58 New Yorker are placed too low and too close together.

Thanks for posting those photos. Great to see the hoard of FLs that are in Sweden (and I know that there are more).

BUT...

Can someone explain this Chrysler to me? Looks very much Dodge front end, like a Desoto Firesweep might have (??)

American '58 Windsor, which was Dodge based with the shorter Dodge wheelbase. The Canadian '58 Windsor was really a full length American Saratoga with Windsor badges, so Canada didn't get this Dodge based car.

The 4ds doors does not have the fins on them - look at the pictures Dave posted. The 4dht doors have shorter fins on the doors.
There's absolutely no signs that the car was ever modified.

Was a pleasure to post it. Because there were too many pictures, I didn't load them all individually on the page
The Forest Green '57 New Yorker Conv was the winner of 1955-63 Cabriolet class. Owner is from Torsby. And the contest has a VERY HIGH Claim

There are plenty of doors he could have used that do have the fins on them. If you are suggesting that Chrysler made a one off stamping of the rear doors & quarter panel, you would need to back that up with lots of documentation because it's EXTREMELY unlikely they would create the dies to do that on ONE car. It might be plausible if this car had a pre-production IBM date. If so, show it. Otherwise, we must assume it is a well-executed creation, and nothing more.

Notice the similarities?

I never thought I would see another in my color. Both '59s, wire wheels, wide WSW tires. Amazing!

Or are the bars still standing as they should?

Never trust a brochure. There are many examples of brochures showing things that didn't make it to production. However, it appears that there were differences in placement depending on which factory the car was made in. I am sure that my car was originally a spring special, and it's bars are placed in the original positions. The placement on mine agrees with Greg's verified spring special '58 Saratoga, and this white Saratoga sedan as well. But there is this mostly untouched Dart Line Windsor that has them placed lower, just like the car in Sweden. So I would conclude that both versions were used. This Dart Line has an "A" poly 318 in it, but it had to have been transplanted in there because a Canadian '58 Windsor is really a US Saratoga. We won't know which factories placed them lower unless we look into all the details of these cars.
