Garrett: According to one source, "Chrysler products all had the same diameter oil fill hole from the 1920s up until 1969 then they went to a twist in cap. 1-1/2 inches I.D."

On that basis, this should be what you are looking for:

I bought a bunch of those Gates style caps when they were sold cheap on Ebay, and they do work well. And if you paint it black, it will look pretty good too. Not all oil caps were the same in those years though. But the differences were minor, such as overall size, openings, baffles, labeling, etc.

Don't the original ones have the word "oil" stamped in them?

Some of them do, some of them don't. It isn't clear when they were used. My gold '57 New Yorker is the most original car I own, and it's cap doesn't say that on it, but my '58 Coronet cap did.

Both of my '59 DeSotos and my '60 Chrysler did have the "OIL" stamped in. But they are all big blocks if that makes a difference.

Interesting, well I'll go with the chrome one and paint it black that looks to be the closest I can get to correct for now.
