I previously (like 6 years ago) posted about a 315 D500 engine intake valve push rod that had issues. I've always wanted to replace that push rod. Recently I called out to a forum member who was generous enough to provide me with three 315 intake valve push rods to choose the best one from and install it in my engine. These arrived on Tuesday. (Thanks Dave N.)

Since then I have 1. soaked them overnight in solvent, 2. wiped them off, 3. put them in Rust Check brand Rust Wash overnight, 4. Brass-wire brushed them off, 5. Put them back in the Rust Wash for another overnight, and 6. Pulled them out and cleaned them with the Scotch Brite pad. In doing so, I now can see how the cone/socket female upper tip and round male tip were attached to the push rod tube (I am guessing silver solder). (A bit better than the red loctite that I used to "fix" that one 6 years ago).

All three roll nicely on a flat counter top. Two are better than the third (a bit of uneven noise but no visible bends). One of those two will go in the engine.

Thanks Dave N.

The process so far:

Dave, how do you find time to research, design, take pictures and post all these topics. I can barely keep up just reading about all your projects.

Easy. I don't have a life

(Actually, I really like making posts that help me (and maybe others) learn about their mid-50's Mopars, in my case a 56 Dodge)

Also there is a chance that I suffer from Adult onset ADHD.

Great job cleaning those push rods and making them beautiful, Dave.

NOW, can you please ask the idiot who stored them "in a safe place" to tell me
exactly where that location is?? (Garage?? Basement??).

It is embarassing but I need to find them as part of my lifter replacement project.
(I've been looking but they haven't jumped out and bit me (yet))

I have no clue where the "idiot" has hidden them.

Old age or just stupid??
