Danielle from Stellantis has asked my help.

She is looking for the VINs of 1959-1961 Desoto Diplomats so it can be figured where they were made and the production count.

Please use the latest request form and provide the VIN and proof of ownership.

Why do you need proof of ownership? You'll be lucky to get any participation, and you are making it less likely that people are going to.

It's not Bob that needs the proof of ownership, it's Stellantis/Chrysler historical as part of the request process. That's the same way it has been for years when requesting build cards and decoding. It sounds like she's basically asking for 1959-1961 DeSoto Diplomat owners to submit requests to the historical society. For anyone wishing to help, the latest request form can be found here: www.desoto.org/historical. Just fill it out and send it to Danielle directly.

Its good to hear that Danielle's job and the service still exist under new leadership of stellantis
If she need the proof ownership of Diplomat's she could count the numbers of existing cars,- but it show me they have NO further informations, so the owners itself get no advantage about it. So for what reason should the owners pay for the useless service

That's kind of what it sounds like is that they have nothing, but perhaps what they need are serial numbers to help search their files properly to find stuff? If someone does have a car to submit, it might be a good way to get some one-on-one research for their car. If nothing else, the historical group has helped us all out for years with supplying build cards, decoding, and even on a few specialized projects with various clubs. We owe a big "thank you" to Brandt, Danielle, and team for their years of service to us. If I had a car that fit their request, I'd be happy to help them out in return.

FYI, the service is free. Even when it was $45 years ago, they never cashed the checks but now they don't even ask for payment of any kind.

Wernt they all made in Canada for export?

I thought they had no details of cars built outside of the US

The 60 Dodge phoenix I rebuilt was built here in Australia, so I never even bothered trying to get any build info for it.

I think the amount of available options were not that great for them.

The Australian built cars differed from the Canadian ones as well (from my very limited observations)

You mean other than the obvious right-hand drive vs. left-hand drive, I presume.
