Wearing inside of tires out on front end. Noticed bad upper ball joint on right side and possibly sloppy center drag link too. Got into it today and freed up ball joint and upper a-arm. Buddy helping me said if you can get whole upper a-arm get it because not only is it a bear to get ball joint out but a-arm bushings are squeaky and look old too. I’ve had to spray them before with graphite to quiet them down. Does anybody know if upper a-arm with new ball joint and new bushings is available…if not how about at least new bushings? I see ball joints all over the place…eBay, rock auto etc. any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob

.
So based on the diagram below, which parts are you looking for, e.g. 2-15-4, inner A-arm bushings, ??

I’m looking at 2 bushings 2-15-4, 1 ball joint 2-10-57 and an arm 2-08-5. My buddy was wondering if you could get it as an assembly (because new vehicles do I guess) but I told him I doubt it. I saw a complete front end rebuild kit but I don’t want to go through that. Can piece parts be bought anywhere? Like I said I see upper ball joints but not bushings. I’d gladly get a ballpoint and 2 bushings per side. I don’t see the bushings anywhere yet…rock auto doesn’t list them. I’m thinking specialty shop might. Also, If I can get the bushings and I order the ball joint as well, which is most likely, I’ll need the correct socket to get ball joint out. What size is it? Got to be close to 2”?

You can't get it as an assembly. If your actual arm is bad, you'll need to get another used one from BigM or other wrecking yard. You can get the bushings on ebay, usually. But beware that Dodge/Plymouth are different from big body Chrysler/DeSoto. Many sellers confuse them because the small wheelbase Desoto Firesweep and Chrysler Windsor are Dodge based and use the Plymouth/Dodge bushings.

I don't think that National Moparts 1636041 is the correct PN listed. They might be the correct part but the PN they list is not, so some dimensions will have to be investigated.

I think that the PN is 1881 651, like these ones:

Hi.
I replaced my bushings on the upper A-arm today. It was an easy task and my part-store recomended me not to change the upper balljoint if not worn when I suggested to buy and replace it when I had it all apart anyway. When I took the A-arm off the car I could tell that the upper ball joint was in perfect condition. As new. But the bushings was totally worn out.

But as simple task to remove the A arm I can do it again if ever the ball-joint wears out. But with my milage between my regular services it gets a lot of grease.
