Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10290 Location: Lower Mainland BC | . Welcome onboard Howard. Our resident expert on all things Canadian Chryco, Bill Watson (aka Chrycoman) is a bit under the weather and probably won't be able to answer you as quickly as you want. In the interim, I am in New Westminster BC and I have history with both Canadian (I had a 55 Dodge Regent sedan) and American Dodges (I currently have a 56 Dodge Custom Royal sedan) and I have accumulated some pertinent information that should help you. Or at least I will give it a try. The first thing to know is the 115" wheel base 1955 and 1956 Dodges were really Plymouths from the firewall back with Dodge front fenders, hood, grill and bumpers. They are affectionately called "Plodges". Your D61-3 makes it a 56 Plymouth Belvedere-based 56 Dodge Mayfair. Mayfairs, like yours, had V8s, 303 cubic inch polyspherical head engines to be exact. Probably a 2 bbl but it might have been a 4 bbl. 56 Dodge Regents had flat head sixes and were designated D61-2. The 56 Dodge D61-3 VINs went from 98,915,001 to 98,918,959 so your car, with 98,915,667, is a fairly early build 56 Canadian Mayfair, in your case a wagon. I know, I know, yours is a Sport Suburban. That means that it is a very well equipped Mayfair wagon with additional "Sport Suburban" badging on the side spears. The paint code 1125 means two-tone Surf White (the 11) and Cherry Red (the 25) much the same as the blue and white Sport Suburban in the 1956 Canadian Dodge brochure, excerpt shown below, except red where the brochure Sport Suburban is blue. Or like the red and black one below, except white where it has black. I have a copy of the original 56 Canadian dealer paint and interior book that would have been used by a Canadian dealership to show prospective customers what the possibilities were but the interior codes are done as numbers, not letters. That said, we've seen another Canadian 56 Dodge (a Regent in that case) with the JCA Trim code and it was greys. I think that it is the Code 70 trim in this image: REFERENCE: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=74627&... Edited by 56D500boy 2023-11-15 3:18 PM

Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10033 Location: So. Cal | A gray code 70 would make sense. I think the Pink/Black code 80 would have been reserved for pink combo cars, and maybe all white/black cars as an option - though the gray would be the primary fabric on those cars too. I have a feeling that the wagon pictured above is re-painted in pink, but they chose a darker color of pink than the original. Edited by Powerflite 2023-11-15 12:49 PM

Howard from Saskatchewan Howard: We will want to see photos of the exterior, interior, the cowl data plate and the engine bay. This website has to have photos less than 250 Kb (1024 x 764 works well). .jpgs work. .jpegs from Apple products that are less than 250 Kb will upload but they will not automatically be visible to us. (We will have to click on a link to see them). Here is post regarding hints about posting photos in this forum that I did a few years back. http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=64340&...
