I'm looking for a set of wire wheels and tires for a stock '58 Imperial. The wire wheels would be the classic-looking Chrysler style wire wheels with spinners. I'm thinking getting 15", even though the original wheels are 14". Or, is that a bad idea? Also, I may want to go with a new modern disk-brake set-up, which may require the 15" wheels anyway. The tires I'm looking for would be radials with the large 2.75" or 3" whitewalls. The biggest thing I'm concerned about is wheel clearances, as I don't want to be rubbing on any suspension or inner wheel-wells.

I run 15" wheels on everything, even my '61 A-body Lancer wagon that originally had 13" wheels. The 15" will fit fine. The '59 Imperial even came with 15" wheels when new.
But I'm not a fan of wire wheels...

Also, what bolt pattern do I need for the wheels on a '58 Imperial? 5 on 4.5 inch or 5 on 5.5 inch? Will a 235/75 R15 tire have any clearance problems with the wheelwells or suspension?

The wheel bolt pattern on Imperials is the larger 5.5" size. But before you go purchase wheels for it, make sure you know what bolt pattern your disc brake conversion uses. You may end up converting the car to the smaller bolt pattern. I can't answer the tire size question, but I use 235x70x15 tires on my '57 and '60 Chryslers without issue.
