Member Posts: 45 ![]() | Does anyone have the WIX or NAPA Gold part numbers for the 1958 or 1959 Dual quad oval air cleaner elements used on the Chrysler 300? Are they different part numbers for 1958 and 1959? I ask because I have come up with varying results looking online. -Gregg B.

Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10781 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Lower Mainland BC | . I think that the 1958 OE PN is 1852 568 (1852568 when google searching). Same PN for 300D, 58 Adventurer and 58 Fury) After a bit of work trying a few different potential sources, I think what you are looking for is WIX 42030. This is also NapaGold 2030 Air Filter by WIX (42030) Available from Rock Auto for a decent price (in my opinion): https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=360108&cc=1327867&pt=619... I think. But if that doesn't work, there is a 1957 PN, 1739 546 (1739546 when searching) that get you these NOS filters: https://www.ebay.com/itm/256747354798? Both of the OE numbers also cross to HASTINGS / BALDWIN AF2 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=4485276&cc=0&pt=6192&jsn... Merry Christmas! Edited by 56D500boy 2024-12-25 2:33 PM

Member Posts: 45 ![]() | Close on these filters, but not quite. These are for the standard air cleaner used on single 4-BBL cars... the side-saddle vacuum cleaner looking thing. This one is too thick at 3.6". The correct element needs to be 2.5" for the 2x4BBL setup. -Gregg B.

Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10781 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Lower Mainland BC | . Disagree (somewhat). The 1957 side saddle single 4 bbl poly 325s used a ROUND filter. The 57 D500s single 4 bbls and the 57 Super D500s dual 4 bbls used oval side saddle filters (I learned that the $$$ way I just checked the 1959 Parts manual in Section 14-29-2 and found: "Fury, MD2 High Performance (the Super D500s) , Adventurer, MC3-300" wanted two 1852 568 filter elements. I will now concede that the 1739546 was for the 57 side saddle D500 (or Super D500 325 hemis). Not the 300C or D. I can NOT get the 1852568 to pop up NOS (or WIX equivalent). Sorry. I played in the WIX catalogue with Round/Oval and "2" inch (includes 2.5" by about pg. 6) and found nothing. Under 3" I did find the 42030. (which you said is too thick) https://www.wixfilters.com/en-us/filter-finder.html Edited by 56D500boy 2024-12-25 5:33 PM

Even the K&N filter is now obsolete.

Even the K&N filter is now obsolete. Not withstanding Craig's NOS offerings, what about cutting a WIX 42030 down an inch or so (with appropriate resealing the top edge with silicone sealant)? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=360108&cc=0&pt=6192&jsn=... Says the 42030 is 3.6" high. The delisted 42042 was 2.5" or so. WIX 42030 = https://www2.wixfilters.com/Lookup/PartDetails.aspx?Part=103404 ![]() Edited by 56D500boy 2024-12-31 7:05 PM

I would use my table saw to cut off the rubber on one end (top or bottom) and then trim the remaining filter and wire matrix to the right height before adding the silicone to the removed rubber oval. I will check some prices on Jan 2nd. Have a great New Years

Just found a 42030 locally for reasonable money (considering I don't even need it). When I get it (maybe this afternoon), I will photo-document the height modification process and post it up here (probably in a separate thread). How knows, it might work. (OR NOT

Member Posts: 45 ![]() | And here is the difference between the '58 standard Chrysler 392 Hemi air filter, and the one used on the Chrysler 300. 3.6" vs. 2.25". I did manage to get the last 2 from MoparMall, before they became "out of stock" once again. I just converted a taller WIX 42030 to the equivalent of a WIX 42042 in about 15 minutes (with a table saw - band saw would work too).
