Does anyone have a source for NOS or reproduction Oil breather cap to suit a 1956 Dodge 315V8 Poly

Upon getting mine back from the engine reconditioner, the "gauze" inside the cap has vanished. I assume they did have gauze in them originally ?

I cannot see how I could take it apart and reinstate the gauze, so have tried to find a NOS replacement, else a good used one maybe ?

Any suggestions or help appreciated.

Location: So. Cal		You should be able to bend that lip up to extract the plate and replace the element inside.

Job done. I managed to find "small" stainless steel pot scourers, and with smoe patience ( about 1 1/2hours worth), I managed to get 3 or maybe it was 4 balls of stainless scourer into the breather cap.

Happy now. Thanks for all the responses.

Location: Beaumont TX		this stainless steel mesh is exactly how I fixed my oil breather. Just like you. Works fine. I soaked it in oil and slung it out to have oil on the mesh so it catches dirt better.
