Yesterday, while working through Jeff Q's 56 Dodge D500 Police Pursuit car's IBM card, I was struck by the "coincidence" (??) between the 359 Accessory Code that I had seen on some 56 Dodge IBM cards that had D500 engines (and maybe the full monty, springs, engine and brakes). So today I wondered whether the correlation between the 359 Accessory Code and the presence of the D500 engine, etc. was strong. Based on the resulting table that I present to you below, the answer is a strong "Maybe". I think the correlation is strongest with the early cars and less so or non-existent with some of the later cars, i.e. after the point that Dodge would put a D500 engine, etc. in any 56 Dodge chassis, not just the 812 Coronet club couples and the 836 Custom Royal 2dr Lancers as they did in the beginning. For reference, I will start with Jeff Q's 56 Dodge D500 Police Pursuit car's IBM card, showing the 359 code. All the others in the table below are based on 56 Dodge D500 IBM cards that I was given (or scrounged).
