George, Larry and Anyone Else:
I have the factory photo of the 56 Fury trunk with the jack. I'm not
sure it will be of much help, because the spare tire hides most of it. I would
scan and send it, but I tried that before and our email system does not
handle photo scan attachments.
In the photo, one end of the jack is resting on the bracket under the
right trunk hinge which also serves as the spare tire support. The other end
of the jack disappears under the right tail light. There is no sign of the
spring, jack stand or handle, so I do not know where they might go. That is
the best I can do short of sending a copy of the photo to you via snail mail.
If anyone wants a snail mail copy of the photo with spare tire and jack,
let me know. Otherwise, use your best judgement. My jack is not mounted as
shown in the photo since I could not find a good way to keep it from
rattling around. My jack is laying flat against the back of the spare with the
spring wrapped around it and the handle. The stand is crammed in there
somewhere.
