Re: [GFS] FURY UPPER RADIATOR HOSE

Ron,

This is what I did for my Fury.  I look for a pre molded hose that was 1 3/4" inside diameter (both ends), that was at least 17 inches long and had the two curves I wanted ( 7 inch sweep to the left with a 7 inch drop).  The hose I got was longer but all I wanted was the section of hose that fit my needs.  I did this for the upper and lower hose.  Use your imagination when you go shopping again.  All of a sudden you are going to see at least half a dozen hoses that will fit your needs.  We have a lot of clearance for the top hose so different angles and shapes can work.  Go to Pep Boys, O'Reileys, whoever will let you into their backroom to take a look with a measuring tape or better yet your old hose.  It cost me $18 (2001 pricing) and a hour of looking for both the upper and lower hoses.

Now, more recently I ran across this on eBay and made note of these part numbers for future reference.  Good Year Hose # 60880 - fits 1 3/4" upper if 3 inches is cut off the straight leg.  Good Year Hose # 8484 is a perfect fit for the 1 1/2" lower intake hose and has the anti-collapse spring inside.  Some one also will have an interchange for these numbers if your parts store doesn't carry Good Year.  These should come with paper numbers wrapped around so all you will have is smooth pre-molded black rubber.  The first set I got had white markings with the part numbers on the outside of the hose, so all I did was scrub them off with a terry cloth towel and Armor-All.  This also works on black heater hoses with markings, just scrub them off.

This is the power of the GSF network.  Some one has been there and done that.  Keep sharing information everyone!

Guys and Gals, Have FUN at Carlisle!  I can only wish I could be there.

Gates does not make a straight stock hose, only a flex rippled hose. I want a smooth stock looking hose. Does anybody know where I can get one????? I tried NAPA, and no luck.
