Re: IML: Need a new fan clutch

This strikes me as just about right. Unfortunately. Man, I wish I had known about the Jaguar part back when I needed one for my 58. Evidently, even though the 58 and the 59 have different engines, the space available for the fan clutch is just as limited. I was quoted an outrageous price to get mine rebuilt and, lacking any viable alternative, what else can you do? The part had failed and I considered to going to one of those alternative light weight fans that don't have a clutch but they are noisy and would look wrong and some folks say they are highly prone to failure that would cause extreme damage.

??

Excuse me, but did you say that you paid $200 to have
a fan clutch rebuilt?

I must be reading that wrong.

According to a member on the Forward look list ,
Jaguar XJ6 fanclutch is a
straight swap. This resulted with having a mopar
clutch rebuilt for 200
dollars. The Jaguar one cost 45 Dollars ! plus took
the 7 blade fan.
