Re: IML: $ Rebuild a 392 Hemi ?

Denis;
  I would look around for a machine shop with a good reputation in your area. Speak to some other old car folks about who is best as machining operations are the same for every make out there. Ask about a good mechanic who doesn't rip old car people off or refuse to work on such machinery.
Also contact P.A.W and get a hold of their early Hemi catalogue, they seem to have good prices for 392 parts. Also contact EGGE machine and find out what they have to offer and how much.
  I would say that a complete rebuild of your 392, including parts, labor, and machining should run around $4000 if you don't touch a wrench. Needless to say the bills can stack up quickly if you don't do some of it yourself. By the way, why do you think that your engine needs a complete rebuild?

I've got to get my 58 Imp engine rebuilt, about what is a fair price ? I.m mechanically challenged, so won't even attempt to do it myself.
