IML: Article-Torqueflite rebuilds/exchanges/differences

Hi all! I'm following the IML discusssion on Torqueflite rebuild costs, and the pre-62 Cast iron case units. It seems the gear ratios were all the same, and so maybe a swap may be 'cheaper' if the cast iron case is not an 'originality concern'.

The new Sept 2005 Hemmings 'Muscle Machines's, has a great article on Torqueflites:
'swap guide'-origins, changes, 'upgrades'- 1956-'late1980's'-1993.trucks. Pages 122-125.

Also mentions all the MOPAR vehicles equipped as well as other National and International manufacturers that chose the Torqueflite: Jensen (CV-8) &Interceptors, Aston-Martin Vantage and DBS, Bristol, Interbational, Iveco, Jeeps, Monteverdi, Scout, and the years for 'donor' trannys. Also mentions the push button 'cable operated' and the rod linkage models. Sounds like the laterv unitsa could also be 'retro engineered' for the push button cable-after all the 62 and 63 Imprials had the new case and were push button cable controlled.

Excellent Article, Might be helpful.
