IML: Imperials and Monterey

Hi Randy -

It would have been great to know another Imperial owner & IML member was there - we'll need to coordinate in the future. I've missed the last 2 Pebble Beach Concours - ever since the tickets went to $100+ (each!). For a few years prior to that, I had a comp pass through an automotive artist friend who was exhibiting and before that, I paid the $60 entry fee, but $100+ seems a bit rich.

Also in previous years, I've gone to the Concorso Italiano (had a car in a special Giugiaro display once and talked to "the greatest living stylist" himself), the vintage races (and practices) at Laguna Seca, club parties and shows, etc., and the free open house at the Blackhawk Museum It still is, potentially, the greatest line-up of car "events" in the world, taking place over 10 days. Several are really insider/invitation only events, but there is still too much for the average human being! Every car nut should make the pilgrimage at least once. Including the drive up on Highway 1, Pacific Coast Highway.

Another IML Member was also there admiring the Imperials. Both the Airflow
and '33 were immaculate and stunning automobiles.

This was my 3rd year making the pilgrimage from TN to Pebble Beach, CA for
the show and it continues to be better each year. It is a rare chance to see
about 200-250 of the finest and most unique automobiles in the world.

The Imperials were obviously very popular with the spectators which speaks
well for our marque.
