I don't like the sound of this!  I've been driving my car for a year and a 
half with this problem.  It won't start hot, but once started will run all 
day until you shut it off.  When you say you can hear your pump running does 
it run anytime the key is on?  When mine gives trouble the rear pump 
continually runs as opposed to pulsing when the key is turned on.  This is 
presumably because there is no fuel pressure (vapor lock?) and the pump is 
trying to pressurize the lines.

I believe my problem is heat soak related and involves the rear fuel pump.  
I changed the fuel filters and some hoses and the problem was gone for 
months, however, it has recently resurfaced.  What changed on the car?  I'm 
betting it's the winter blend oxygenated fuel.  It was good until last 
Thursday and I believe the 1st 2 weeks of October are when they change over. 
 Not looking forward to more winter troubleshooting.
