RE: IML: 81 Imperial EFI problems

It stopped raining here and I'm about to go check mine-I have the day off:)
The fuel filters are under the passenger side door. There are 2 in parallel. There are a ton of hose clamps and rubber hose associated with the filters alone. You can get the filters at Napa or Autozone. I would swap them and as much of the rubber hose as you can. It's 3/8. Modern oxygenated fuels chew through old rubber hose pretty quick. Especially since they usually contain alcohol content-10% here.

My efi has an out of tank fuel pump. Can't say it's any improvement. What did you mean by it was running but not reliable? Did it stall? Run rough? Or were you just scared it would die? At least try to fix the efi on a few sunny days before you swap to a carb. It's not a quick swap and you'll really appreciate the efi compared to a 2bbl 318.

If it stops raining for 1/2 a day,any suggestions for me to try,
 on this 81 Imperial?

I got it to run the other day, but,it was not reliable.

I read that there are 2 fuel filters under the car, where should they be.I figure I will check them.

Has anyone tired an inline "EFI" electric fuel pump, instead of the in tank one?

How about if converting to a carb, can use a low pressure inline electric pump, under the car,
will that pull thru the intank pump?Or am I stuck having to drop the fuel tank?

On a side note,I am getting the "List" mailing, and it shows all kinds of junk with it,
like "code"?? What can I do to get the email to look more "normal"??

 Here is a small example.
 Thanks, to All,Lee/cavemanmoron
